Happy Thanksgiving 2015

I would like to take this time for us to give thanks for all the wonderful blessings we have received from the Lord of Glory, the Lord Jesus Christ.

As we enter this holiday season the world continues in what seems like a never ending downward spiral.

All around the world wickedness abounds, and the constant attack on Bible Believing Christians is getting worse.

2Tim.3   [1] This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  [4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  [5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.  [6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,  [7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  [8] Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.  [9] But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.  [10] But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,  [11] Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.  [12] Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.  [13] But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

I still remember the first time I read the verses above ~42 years ago. I felt they were so relevant to the time period I was living in, and now 42 years later they seem even more relevant. I have come to see the demise of Bible Believing Christianity in the USA.

I have seen Churches destroyed by these non Bible believing Pastors who every week instead of building young believers faith in the Bible, they only tear it down with their supposed knowledge of the Greek and Hebrew.

They tell their congregations that no one has a Bible that can be trusted, and that only with higher education, and superior intellect can one be able to understand the scriptures.

These pastors have destroyed the faith of many baby and even older Christians, making them believe they can’t read and understand the bible for themselves. In doing this, perhaps without realizing it, these pastors have usurped the divine authority of the Holy Spirit. These pastors do the reading and interpreting instead of the believer reading and the Holy Spirit providing the revelation and interpretation.

This sounds a lot like the people Paul warned us about in 2nd Timothy, who Paul said would be ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Truth is, there is more Bible ignorance now than 40 years ago. I believe we are quickly returning to the dark ages, as more and more perverse bible translations hit the market.

Thanks be to the Lord Jesus that Paul did not stop at verse 13, but continued on with the following verses.

2Tim.3   [14] But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;  [15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. [16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

I am glad that the Lord Jesus led me to the knowledge of a Bible (KJV) that is without error, and has built my trust in it, and helped in my ability to witness for him, and share his holy word with many believers.

As Paul told Timothy to continue, I encourage all my Christian friends to continue in the study of God’s word. I encourage you not to be discouraged when oppression comes, and you loose friends over your stand for the Lord Jesus, stand strong and keep the faith.

Philippians  [4] Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.  [5] Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.  [6] Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  [7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Just a quick update on the website that so many of you pray for and help me with. As we approach being online six months we are fast approaching 5000 visits.

I just stand amazed at the wonderful way that the Lord Jesus has worked in my life, I give him thanks for my family, and friends daily.

Romans 10 [8] But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; [9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Lesson 26 Who Is Jesus? Is He God In Flesh? Who Did He Claim To Be? Part 7

I ask that as we go through these lessons, that you get a Bible, read it, pray, study, and ask the Holy Spirit of the Living God, to help guide you into truth.

Comparing scripture with scripture, and comparing spiritual things with spiritual things, is the only correct way for Christians to discern truth from error.

In this lesson we will look at how rightly dividing the word of truth helps us to answer the questions in the title of this week’s lesson. If you fail to understand, or fail to learn how to rightly divide the word of truth, you can never come to the knowledge of the truth and sound doctrine.

We are continuing to study the doctrine of Jesus being God manifest in the flesh. There is probably no greater misunderstood doctrine in the Bible than who Jesus, the Christ, is.

Once again we will not be going to scholars for an answer to this question, as you can never know who Jesus is through intellect, but only by the Holy Spirit of the living God, thus we will go to no other place than the Holy Scriptures, the Bible (KJV) to find out who Jesus is and claimed to be.

This is the last lesson we will do at this time on the fact that Jesus was God manifest in the flesh. I plan on taking these seven lessons and putting them in one file so that a person can open and see them as one document. I also believe that if you memorize the verses in this lesson you will be able to defend yourself against anyone who brings any false doctrine of who Jesus is.

Now let’s continue to look at Old Testament verses fulfilled or yet to be fulfilled in the New Testament by the Lord Jesus, which reveal that Jesus was in fact the Lord God of Heaven and Earth indwelling a human body.

Isa.44 [6] Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Isa.48 [12] Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

The verses above now identify the Lord God as the first and the last, pay close attention also once again he claims to be the King of Israel.

Now let us go and look at some New Testament verses concerning the Lord Jesus and see if the verses align Jesus with the Old Testament God and King of Israel.

Rev.1 [7] Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. [8] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Rev.1 [10] I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, [11] Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: …

Rev.1 [17] And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: [18] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

We know that the Isaiah lived and recorded the book of Isaiah over 700 years before the birth of the Lord Jesus, and the Lord Jesus fulfilled many of the prophesies of in the book of Isaiah at his first coming, at his second coming he will complete the rest of the prophesies of Isaiah.

Notice how perfectly the Old Testament verses of Isaiah align with the New Testament verses of Revelation concerning the yet future return of the Lord Jesus and identify Jesus as being the first and the last.

Zech.12 [10] And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

John 19 [34] But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. [35] And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. [36] For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. [37] And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

Rev.1 [7] Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.

When we consider the verses above out of Zechariah 12, John 19, and Revelation 1, they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, with a spear pierced his side”, “They shall look on him whom they pierced”, “they also which pierced him we can identify these verses as prophecy about the Lord Jesus, as prophecy fulfilled by the Lord Jesus, and in Revelation the future fulfillment at the return of the Lord Jesus being seen by the very people who pierced him.

Acts 1 [9] And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. [10] And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; [11] Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. [12] Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

Rev.1 [7] Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.

In Acts 1 after the Lord Jesus ascends into heaven a couple of angels (in the scripture angels always appeared as men, not winged creatures, Hebrews 13 [1] Let brotherly love continue. [2] Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.) gives some more details about the return of the Lord Jesus in the future, they tell the people he is coming back in a similar fashion as he left he was taken up in the clouds when he left and when he returns we are told in Rev. 1 that he comes back with the clouds.

In the verses below we see again prophecy, and how it will be fulfilled at the return of the Lord Jesus, he left from the mount of Olives, and when he returns he sets his feet right back in that same spot he left from approximately 2000 years ago.

Notice that when this happens that the mount of Olives actually breaks in two halves. As I like to say when Jesus returns there will be no doubt in anyone’s mind who he is, because he is not coming back as that baby in the manger, but as the KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Zech.14 [3] Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. [4] And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Zech.14 [9] And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

Zech.14 [16] And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Rev. 19 [11] And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. [12] His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. [13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. [14] And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. [15] And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.  [16] And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. [17] And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

I don’t believe I have to say a lot about these verses but just let the Holy Spirit of the Living God reveal the truth of his Holy Word to the readers.

If a person reads the Bible thinking it contains errors and therefore cannot be trusted, or is looking for loopholes the Holy Spirit will surely let them do so.

But a person reading the Bible believing it to be the very words of the Living God correctly recorded, then the Holy Spirit will enlighten the eyes of the believer. The scriptures will come alive to them that believe making it easy to understand.

Again a person who believes the Bible simply cannot deny that the God of the Bible is one God, which reveals himself as the three persons of the Godhead, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.

The Bible is an easy book to understand when you just read, and believe it, not try and make it say things it doesn’t say.

As far as spiritual discernment, when you know where to get your doctrine from, you will no longer be a confused Christian, or an easy target by the sleight of men to deceive you.
