Lesson 2 Great Commission "Serpent Handling"

This short video below will demonstrate how important "Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth" is for us.  Paul said the things written aforetime are for our learning, there is a difference between learning from the Bible and trying to apply those verses doctrinally to your life.

I doubt any of you reading this today will be taking up serpents as required by the Great Commission.

When you view the video, pay careful attention to the verses below and what they say.

Mark 16   [15] And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;   [18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Now that you were able to watch the Video, hopefully you are able to see the main reason that people have been so confused by the Bible, is the many different commands that God has given to man, and man’s inability to always know which ones to follow.

These commands, and instructions, spans thousands of years of time during His dealings with the human race.

If one does not understand where to get the correct instructions in the Bible that applies to themselves, or the correct instructions they are to follow today in the year of our Lord they will always be confused.

As we look at the upcoming lessons on the Great Commission, I will camp out here for awhile, as the Great Commission teachings are one of Satan’s favorite parts of the Scriptures that he utilizes to confuse, and divide believers.

Paul says in 1st Cor.2  [12] Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  [13] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  [14] But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Now in the video for this lesson I would like to concentrate on Pastor Coots finger.

I want you to know I am not making fun of these Christians at all, but I think this is one of  the best ways to teach you how to compare spiritual things with spiritual, and exercise your spiritual discernment.

Now we have recorded in the Bible Acts Chp. 28 a perfect example to compare with Pastor Coots experience, and to see if it matches the experience that Jesus told us about in Mark Chp. 16.

Acts 28 [3] And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. [4] And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.  [5] And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.  [6] Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

Ok now I don’t want to lead the witness, but I am going to bet you that when that serpent bit Pastor Coots it hurt, and in the coming months when that flesh rotted and exposed the bone on his finger that it hurt.

Do  you see the difference between Pastor Coots, and the Apostle Paul’s experience, one suffered harm, and the other suffered no harm. You do see that, yes? There is a big difference in the two stories, and even if Pastor Coots said he felt no pain, losing a finger is suffering harm!

All of the confusion among Christianity/Christians today can be attributed to the simple fact that the church, the Body of Christ, does not recognize the separate, distinct, and unique apostleship, ministry, and message of Paul.

If you fail to understand, or fail to learn how to rightly divide the word of truth, you can never come to the knowledge of the truth, and sound doctrine.

The Truth of God’s Holy word is easy to determine if you let the Holy Spirit lead you.

Remember all of the confusion among Christianity/Christians today can be attributed to the simple fact that the church, the Body of Christ, does not recognize the separate, distinct, and unique apostleship, ministry, and message of Paul.

If you have never trusted the Lord Jesus as your savior, I encourage you to believe in him and invite him to save you today! All one need do is to trust and believe in the Lord Jesus’s death, burial and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins to be made new in him.

Gal.2 [16] Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified

Eph.3 [17] That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, [19] And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

What a great day that will be when Jesus Christ returns in all his glory, friend don’t let that day take you unawares. Today Jesus has his arms outstretched and open to sinners to put their trust in him. One day we will all stand before him either as our savior or our judge, don’t put it off invite Jesus to save you today!

"The crowd that will not accept one truth will decay to the point that it does not accept one God: many denominations, many translations, many gods."

2Tim.2 [15] Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
